Action a Document

During the cycle of a project workflow, actions are assigned to different roles to complete a part of the documentation process. Onware uses a document's workflow steps to determine which role(s) need to action a document during a specific time in a project.

When a role is required to perform an action on a document, that role will receive an action item to complete the task. Action items can be viewed on your Home page.

Tip: You can also action a document on the document's Search page. For more information, see Actions Available.

The action required for the document will regulate which content can be edited, added, or changed in the document.

Once you have completed the action required for the document, selecting the appropriate action button from the Top Toolbar will transition the document within its work-flow process, removing the Action Item from your Home page.

To complete an action on a document:

  1. Click the Home icon.

The Home page appears.

  1. Click on the document you want to action in the Action Items section.

The document page appears.

  1. Complete the action required to move the document forward in the project workflow. For more information, see Action Items Based on Role.
  1. If you receive an error message, include all required information indicated in the error message and contact Onware.
  2. If your document was action-ed, a confirmation page and success message will appear.

Tip: Each error is given a unique ID. Contact Onware Help Desk for assistance.
